Privacy Policy

Last updated April 17, 2026
The short version
  • Avlo apps collect no personal data whatsoever.
  • No analytics, no tracking, no behavioral data.
  • No account required — ever.
  • Weather data is fetched directly from public APIs. We never see it.
  • This website uses no cookies and no third-party trackers.
Overview

Avlo is a small suite of personal apps built on a simple principle: your data belongs to you. This privacy policy covers both the Avlo apps and the avlo.app website.

The short version above is the whole story. The rest of this document explains things in more detail, but nothing below contradicts it.

Data we collect

None. Avlo apps do not collect, transmit, store, or sell any personal information. There is no account system, no user database, and no analytics platform.

All data stored by Avlo apps (such as saved places or preferences) is stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage. It never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.

Third-party services

Avlo Weather fetches data directly from the following free public services when you use the app. Your request goes directly from your device to their servers — Avlo never proxies or intercepts this data.

Open-Meteo — weather forecast data. Open-Meteo is a free, open-source weather API. See their privacy policy at open-meteo.com.

NOAA / National Weather Service — weather alerts and NEXRAD radar data. This is a US government service. See weather.gov.

Nominatim / OpenStreetMap — reverse geocoding to convert GPS coordinates into city names. See nominatim.org.

These services may log your IP address as part of standard server logging. Avlo has no control over or access to those logs.

Location data

Avlo Weather requests access to your device location solely to show you local weather. This is done using iOS's standard location API and only when the app is in use.

Your location is never stored, logged, or transmitted to Avlo. It is used only to make a single API request to the weather and geocoding services listed above, and is then discarded.

You can deny location access at any time in iOS Settings and manually search for a city instead.

This website

avlo.app uses no cookies, no analytics scripts, and no third-party tracking. The only external resource loaded is Google Fonts for typography — this is a standard CDN request and subject to Google's privacy policy.

The contact form (at avlo.app/contact) is powered by Web3Forms. When you submit a message, your name, email, and message are sent to Web3Forms and forwarded to our inbox. They are not stored beyond what is necessary to deliver the message. See web3forms.com/privacy for details.

This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may log basic access information (IP addresses, request paths) as part of their standard infrastructure. See cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Children

Avlo apps do not collect data from anyone, including children under 13. There is nothing to collect.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect it. Given the nature of Avlo apps, significant changes are unlikely — we have no data collection infrastructure to change.
