Terms of Service

Last updated 7 October 2026. These terms cover Focus, Nimbus and avlo.app.

Agreeing to these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Avlo LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company (“Avlo”, “we”). By creating an account or using Focus, Nimbus or this website, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use them. You need to be at least 13 to use either app.

Your account

Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You’re responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has access to it, email support@avlo.app straight away.

You can stop using the apps and delete your account at any time, from Settings in Focus or Nimbus.

Your content

What you put into Focus (tasks, notes, photos and the rest) stays yours. You give us permission to store, process and display it only as needed to run the app for you, for example to sync it between your devices or show a shared note to the people you invited. You can export it or delete it at any time.

Don’t use the apps to store or share anything unlawful, or anything you don’t have the right to share. If you share a note, you’re responsible for choosing who can see it.

Connected services

When you connect Canvas, Google Calendar or another service, you’re also using that service under its own terms. We aren’t responsible for its availability or for the accuracy of what it sends us. Synced dates come from those services: always check important deadlines with the source, such as your course page.

Weather information

Forecasts, radar and alerts come from third parties including Apple Weather and the US National Weather Service. Weather is uncertain and data can be late, incomplete or wrong. Nimbus is not a safety tool: in severe weather, follow official warnings and local authorities, and don’t rely on the app or its notifications to keep you safe.

Using the apps fairly

Please don’t:

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, and will tell you why when we can.

Changes to the apps

We’re always improving the apps, which means features can change or be removed. If we ever shut an app down, we’ll give you reasonable notice and a way to export your data.

No warranty

The apps are provided “as is”. We work hard to keep them reliable, but we can’t promise they will always be available, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Avlo isn’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, missed deadlines or weather-related harm arising from using the apps. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another country with mandatory consumer protection laws, you keep every right those laws give you, and nothing in these terms takes them away.

App Store

If you downloaded an app from the App Store, Apple’s standard end-user licence agreement also applies. Apple isn’t responsible for the apps or for supporting them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Wisconsin, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it somewhere else.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we’ll update the date at the top, and tell you in the apps if the change is significant. Continuing to use the apps after a change means you accept the new terms.
